Morning Routine

A resident of this retirement community, of more than 500 people, makes his way to the clubhouse on the beach for his sunrise routine.

One of the favourite pastimes is to inspect gardens, patios, and other refinements made to the trailers in the park.

Worry Free Maintenance

Garbage duty is done by a fantastic group of men know as "The Briny Boys" who also take care of repairs and groundskeeping.

The BBC?

The park even has its own television studio known as Briny Breezes Channel, or the "BBC."

Abolutions

Although the trailers have all the amenities of a house, many residents still prefer to use a communal bath house.

Zeek

Zeek is surrounded by "the boys" in the back shack after a hard day of labour in the S. Florida sun. Arguably the glue that holds Briny together, Zeek has worked at Briny for decades.

Lonely

Walking along the "boardwalk." Loneliness is an ever present reality for many residents who are widowed late in life.

A Night Out

Golf carts, the primary mode of transportation in Briny, line the grass in front of the shuffleboard court, next to A1A.

The Briny Shuffle

The shuffleboard court gets used less and less these days as the new generation of retirees are more active. Recent proposals have included turning the courts from shuffle to tennis.
